Jon asked: Once an individual successfully completes an accredited Personal Trainer course, passes exams, etc and receives the certification is there ongoing “education/training” that need done to maintain the certification.. (CEUs, et..)? Or, once you get certifified, that is it, you have current certification for lifetime?

tdangel30 asked: The University of South Florida offers an online program for personal training and it’s $259 per course (5 course to become certified) Can’t I just order study materials and take the certification exam on my own and it be cheaper? Does anyone know if there are any differences in the two certificates? They look the same to me but doing it on my own would be WAY cheaper. Thanks for any advice in this matter.

Since I only want to become a personal trainer as a supplement to pay for my schooling (i’m a psych major). I dont want to take more classes than i have to. Teresa asked: I am confused by the many Personal Trainer certification organizations. There is ACSM, Aafa, NSSI, ACE etc. I would like to become a personal trainer; however, I am confused by the different agencies. Does anyone know the differences or where I can find out?
